Joe R. “Jay” Johnson, II


Joe R. "Jay” Johnson, ll is a native and lifelong resident of Springfield, Tennessee. He has been licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 1996. He has previously practiced law in Springfield at the Law Office of Larry D. Wilks, 1996-1998, and at the Law Firm of Goodman & Walker, 1998-2000. Mr. Johnson opened his own private practice in December of 2000. Since that time he has handled thousands of legal matters to successful conclusion. Mr. Johnson has tried many jury trials, both civil and criminal. He has also tried hundreds of divorce matters. In 2011, Mr. Johnson was listed as a Rule 31 Family Law Mediator. Since that time, he has mediated over 200 cases.

Steven Wayne Duncan, Jr.

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Steven Wayne Duncan, Jr. is an associate attorney at Johnson Law Office. Steven is a Middle Tennessee Native. Steven graduated from Christian Brothers University in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting. Steven obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from Belmont University College of law in 2020. During law school, Steven served as a peer mentor to incoming students.

Before law school, Steven served in the Tennessee Army National Guard for six years. Steven was deployed in Iraq, where he had the honor of serving as a Staff Sergeant. Steven’s commitment to serving his country and community sparked his interest to becoming an attorney.


During law school, Steven looked to gain a wide base of experience. He clerked in the Administrative Procedure Division for the Tennessee Administrative Law Judges. Steven also interned at the Office of the Inspector General and with In House Counsel for Smile Direct.


Steven is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Robertson County Bar. In his free time, you can find Steven on the lake in the Summer and duck hunting in the Winter. On most days, you can swing by and find Steven’s dog, Rubie, in the office.
